According to insider information from MacRumors, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models, which Apple will present next year, will be presented with significant updates. The company will retain its beloved classic design on the exterior, but a serious revolution is expected in the interior and camera system.
For the first time since 2022, Apple decided to reduce the "island" on the screen. This change is considered the company's first step towards transitioning to a fully frameless and hole-free display. But the front camera is still visible - the Face ID under the screen can only appear on the iPhone 19 Pro.
Another interesting feature of the new model is the rear panel design. It introduces a blurry transparent effect through the magnetic ring part, allowing the user to clearly see the parts inside the smartphone. At the same time, the screen diagonal remains unchanged: iPhone 18 Pro - 6.3 inches, Pro Max - 6.9 inches.
The innovations in the camera system are also noteworthy. The main 48-megapixel sensor now supports a variable aperture. This means that the user can manually control the level of illumination and improve the quality of the photograph under various conditions. At the same time, this feature is not yet available on any iPhone model.
The A20 Pro chip on the device is manufactured based on the 2-nm TSMC process. This significantly increases its productivity and also enhances energy efficiency.
Insiders say that starting in 2026, Apple will transition to a new presentation system - Pro models and foldable iPhones will be presented in the fall, while a cheaper version will enter the market in the spring.
There is also information about foldable iPhones. According to sources, it will have a book-like design in the style of the Galaxy Z Fold, a foldless screen, a Touch ID system, and four cameras.
In the end, the iPhone 18 series is expected to be the next stage for Apple - the beginning of a new era in terms of design, functionality, and technology.
