Specialists from Shanghai's Jiao Tong University have created an innovation that allows obtaining drinking water from atmospheric air. This technology combines the methods of condensation, absorption, and heat pumps and is especially intended for use in low-humidity and hot regions.
The device called AtmosWell is a fully autonomous station operating on solar panels, effectively operating under conditions of temperatures from 15 to 40 degrees and humidity from 35 to 99 percent. This device produces up to 50 liters of drinking water per day and operates independently, without connecting to the infrastructure. The size of the device is equal to the size of a small bus stop.
An even larger platform with a capacity of 1.6 thousand liters of water has also been developed. This system is especially convenient for use in hotels on islands, in small settlements, and in remote areas.
