Specialized worker towns built for AI centers

The rapid development of AI technologies requires new types of infrastructure solutions. Currently, there is a need to temporarily house thousands of workers to build large data centers. For this reason, developers are adapting a system of special towns designed for oil field workers to AI projects. Reports techcrunch.com.
In Dickens County, Texas, special areas with comfortable conditions for workers are being built in connection with the construction of a 1.6 GHz data center. Target Hospitality has won $132 million in contracts for this project. These towns feature gyms, laundry rooms, and quality dining areas, with the capacity to accommodate over 1,000 workers.

Company management calls these projects the most promising direction in their operations. However, Target Hospitality's past is somewhat controversial. They also operate an immigrant detention center in Texas, where detainees have raised serious complaints about food quality and living conditions.
As the demand from tech giants for data centers grows, the construction of such temporary towns is expected to become even more popular in the future. This opens up new and profitable market doors for construction companies.
