Bloomberg: "Chinese authorities have banned startups from receiving money from the US"

The Chinese government is taking measures to limit investments coming from the US into the country's technology startups. According to Bloomberg agency, Chinese regulators are planning to ban local companies from accepting American capital without official permission. This initiative is part of Beijing's strategy aimed at ensuring national security and preventing the leakage of important technologies. 3dnews.ru reports.
The new restrictions came as a response to last year's incident involving the American corporation Meta's acquisition of the Chinese AI startup Manus for 2 billion dollars. Chinese authorities have currently launched an investigation into this deal. Also, promising projects such as Moonshot AI and StepFun have received warnings against receiving funds from US investors.
The restrictions concern not only small startups, but also large giants. In particular, ByteDance — the owner of TikTok — has been instructed not to carry out redistribution of shares among American investors without government consent. According to specialists, such measures may significantly complicate the process of attracting foreign capital into China's technology sector.
