Sony and Nintendo announce new data on console sales

Sony and Nintendo have released new reports on the sales of their current gaming consoles. According to the data, the PlayStation 5, which launched in the second half of 2020, has already reached 92.1 million units sold. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
This result places the PlayStation 5 in eighth place on the list of best-selling gaming devices of all time, surpassing the figures of its predecessor, the PS3. Experts believe that since there is still time before the release of the PS6, the PS5 could potentially surpass PS4 records in the future.
Meanwhile, Nintendo has updated information regarding its Switch 2 console. This device, which hit the market last year, has sold 19.86 million units so far. Despite this, Nintendo has lowered its forecast for the 2027 fiscal year by 16.9 percent, projecting sales of 16.5 million units.
Additionally, due to the situation in the memory chip market, Nintendo announced that it will increase the price of the Switch 2 from $450 to $500 starting September 1st.
