Rivian's Mind Robotics project raises another $400 million

Mind Robotics, a startup spun off from Rivian, has raised an additional $400 million to develop industrial robotics and automate factory processes. This funding round comes just two months after the company secured $500 million. This was reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
According to the Wall Street Journal, this investment round was led by Kleiner Perkins. Volkswagen, which is partnering with Rivian on software, and Salesforce also invested in the project.
RJ Scaringe, Chairman of the Board of Mind Robotics and CEO of Rivian, noted in an interview with TechCrunch in March that he founded the company because other startups were not fully prepared to automate industrial tasks. Originally known as "Project Synapse," the project aims to create "robotics with human capabilities."
Since its inception in 2025, the company has raised over $1 billion in total. Mind Robotics is currently valued at over $3 billion. RJ Scaringe also founded Also, a micromobility company that has raised over $300 million to date.
