“Mom, I put on my hat”: ISS commander explains unexpected sign in space

International Space Station (ISS) commander Sergey Kud-Sverchkov has clarified that the sign “Mom, I put on my hat,” which appeared during a live broadcast of a spacewalk, was not intended for the broadcast. According to him, the note was prepared for a personal photo. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports.
The cosmonaut explained that he planned to take a few photos before the camera feed from his helmet began. “This small note was a completely unexpected improvisation. I never expected it to end up in the official broadcast,” Kud-Sverchkov emphasized.
This phrase is familiar to many from childhood and reflects the care parents, especially mothers, have for their children. According to the cosmonaut, the constant request to wear a hat is an example of care that we often take for granted, but which hides immense love.
“This sentence on paper is a symbolic reminder that no matter how far away we are or how dangerous our work is, we should always appreciate and remember our mothers' care,” he added. As a reminder, the spacewalk lasted 6 hours and 6 minutes, and the crew successfully completed all assigned tasks.
