NASA Administrator inspects damage following New Glenn rocket explosion

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman visited Cape Canaveral to assess the extent of the damage at the launch pad where a New Glenn rocket recently exploded, viewing the site from a helicopter. During the visit, he met with engineers and staff from Blue Origin, the company founded by Jeff Bezos, to examine the situation at LC-36 firsthand. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

In his statement, Isaacman emphasized that aerospace industry representatives perform best in such complex situations and under pressure. According to him, NASA does not simply wait to achieve the country's strategic goals but actively participates in overcoming failures alongside its partners.

"We are committed to helping the Blue Origin team recover, develop the lunar lander, and safely resume New Glenn flights. America's greatest achievements in space were not gained by avoiding mistakes, but by overcoming them," said the NASA chief.

As a reminder, a New Glenn rocket exploded on the launch pad late Thursday. NASA is currently investigating the incident. Despite this, the agency recently announced that it had selected Blue Origin as a partner for the first mission to build a lunar base.
