Amazon Leo satellites successfully launched on Atlas V rocket

A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V 551 rocket successfully launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. As part of this mission, 29 communication satellites belonging to the Amazon Leo project were deployed into low Earth orbit. This flight, designated AV-113, marked the 109th mission for the Atlas V rocket to date. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
Amazon has signed a contract with ULA for a total of 47 launches to deploy its satellite constellation. Of these, 38 are allocated to Vulcan rockets and 9 to Atlas V. Due to delays in the readiness of the Vulcan rocket, Amazon was forced to launch its initial prototypes using Atlas V last year.
Currently, Amazon has purchased over 108 rocket launches for its first-generation satellite constellation. According to the plan, more than 3,200 devices will be deployed in low Earth orbit. The Amazon Leo project aims to compete with SpaceX's Starlink system and provide high-speed internet to remote areas of the planet.
Notably, shortly before this successful launch, a serious incident occurred at Cape Canaveral involving Blue Origin's heavy-lift New Glenn rocket. The rocket was destroyed in an explosion during testing, and NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman personally inspected the scale of the damage by helicopter.
