No Internet or cell towers needed: $110 T-Deck Max unveiled

LilyGo has unveiled the updated version of its experimental mobile device, the T-Deck Max. This gadget is not a typical Android smartphone, but an open platform designed for developers and tech enthusiasts. The device is based on the ESP32-S3 microcontroller (a dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor at 240 MHz), providing high levels of flexibility and programming capabilities. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
The main feature of the T-Deck Max is its ability to establish communication without mobile networks. It supports LoRa technology, which allows for transmitting small amounts of data over long distances where cellular infrastructure is unavailable. This feature can be very useful in emergency situations or at large industrial sites.
The gadget is equipped with a 3.1-inch, 320×240 pixel E-ink display, a full physical QWERTY keyboard, a microphone, and a speaker. It also includes a GPS module for location tracking, and users can connect a 4G modem if desired. A microSD slot is provided for data storage.
Developers have the ability to work in Arduino and PlatformIO environments, with special ports available for connecting external modules and sensors. The current price of the T-Deck Max is set at $110.
