Uzbekistan to introduce yearly energy tariff indexation

Uzbekistan to introduce yearly energy tariff indexation
Uzbekistan will change electricity and gas tariffs and introduce annual indexation based on inflation, Nova24.uz reported.

The price increase date has been shifted from April 1 to May 1. A new differentiated tariff will apply to consumption between 201 kWh and 500 kWh (previously up to 1000 kWh).

Starting May 1, 2025, consumers will pay 800 UZS per kWh in this range, compared to the current 900 UZS.

Households using 500 kWh monthly currently pay 360,000 UZS (90,000 for the first 200 kWh and 270,000 for the next 300 kWh). After changes, the amount remains the same — 360,000 UZS (120,000 + 240,000).

Annual indexation of electricity and gas prices will be applied from May 1 each year, based on inflation but not exceeding 10%.
