
Nine more rare and ancient trees growing in Uzbekistan, of great historical and natural significance, have been included in the international list of Monumental Trees. This was reported by the Ministry of Ecology.
As it was reported, this list includes 5 100-year-old oak trees located in the Chimboy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. A mulberry tree located in the center of the Jizzakh region and over 200 years old has also been included in the international list.

Samarkand region also got a place on this international list with its centuries-old trees. A mulberry tree in the city of Kattakurgan, which is about 250-300 years old, a 450-year-old plane tree in Narpay district, and a plane tree in Payarik district, which has lived for more than 1000 years, were included in the list of Monumental Trees.

It should be noted that previously, a 1,500-year-old eastern biota tree in the Forish district of the Jizzakh region, a 1,160-year-old plane tree in the Urgut district of the Samarkand region, a 1,000-year-old juniper, an 800-year-old walnut tree and a 600-year-old plane tree in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, a 900-year-old plane tree in the Boysun district of the Surkhandarya region, a 700-year-old plane tree in the city of Shakhrisabz of the Kashkadarya region, and a 700-year-old walnut tree in the Zamin National Nature Park of the Jizzakh region were also included in the international list of Monumental Trees.

According to the Ministry of Ecology, Uzbekistan is the first Central Asian country to include its natural heritage sites in this international list. Uzbekistan is the third country among the CIS countries to be included in this list (after Russia and Azerbaijan).
