Toss trash from car? Pay up to 1.8M UZS fine
Uzbekistan is planning to increase penalties for throwing trash from vehicles, reports Kursiv citing the Ministry of Ecology. The measure is part of the national eco-culture development concept through 2030.

Currently, the fine for individuals is up to 3 base rates (BRV), approximately 1.1 million soums. For legal entities, the fine is up to 5 BRV (around 1.8 million soums).

Under the new plan, the fine will increase to 5 BRV for the first offense, and up to 10 BRV for repeat violations.

In 2024, over 638,800 cars were registered in Tashkent, with up to 300,000 vehicles entering the city daily.

“Imagine: even if just one in ten cars discards trash, that’s 15,000 to 30,000 new pieces of litter on Tashkent’s streets daily,” the ministry noted.
