On June 18, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the reconstruction of the "Tashkent-East" airport, which is under construction in the capital and holds significant strategic importance. This new airport is seen not only as an example of modern aviation infrastructure but also as an important platform for economic activity, international relations, and tourism development.
According to the President’s press service, the broad reforms being implemented in the country, economic growth rates, and increasing international attractiveness are contributing to the rise in foreign trade, investment, and visits. Therefore, comprehensive modernization of the transport infrastructure has become one of the priority areas of state policy.
In this context, large-scale construction and modernization efforts are underway to ensure that "Tashkent-East" airport acquires a modern look, is equipped with up-to-date technologies, and becomes one of the major transport hubs.
According to the project, the 4-kilometer runway is being renovated and will be capable of receiving the largest and heaviest aircraft. This will elevate the technical capabilities of the airport to international standards.
Currently, two separate terminals, a ramp, and maintenance hangars are being built on the premises for high-ranking guests and private aviation. Additionally, it is planned to equip the airport with the latest ICAO III-A category radio and meteorological equipment. These technologies will ensure safe and precise flights even in adverse weather conditions.
Furthermore, aircraft will be serviced and stored in closed hangars with modern infrastructure. This will enhance technical safety, energy efficiency, and operational longevity.
The geographical location of "Tashkent-East" airport is also one of its advantages. This area serves not only Tashkent city but also New Tashkent and Tashkent region. The project also aims to boost regional tourism, increase business visits, and host international events.

The airport will expand opportunities for attracting foreign investment, modern services and logistics centers will emerge. This will lead to the creation of new jobs, expansion of the service sector, and overall acceleration of the national economy.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the technical specifications, architectural design, and current progress of the project. He issued specific instructions to accelerate construction, improve service quality and passenger comfort in terminals and on the ramp, and ensure that all operations comply with international standards.
In the coming years, "Tashkent-East" airport is expected to become a key air transport hub serving international business centers, tourist destinations, and strategic aviation systems.
