The President is developing Parkent as a modern township
On June 18, 2025, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Parkent district with the aim of ensuring family well‑being and the comprehensive development of regions. As part of the visit, he toured the “Parkentsoy” residential complex, which is being developed as a modern city — an “eco‑urban” project.

During his inspection, the President emphasized that the main priority of state policy is to identify the “growth points” in regions, upgrade infrastructure, and create a high‑quality social living environment for citizens.

The “Parkentsoy” project spans 6 hectares and comprises 5,200 housing units, all equipped with modern utilities. Energy‑saving technologies, including rooftop geothermal collectors for water heating, are being implemented.

This high‑density housing enhances living standards in urban areas, provides affordable options for young families, and ensures cost‑effective construction. The President noted the comfort and suitability of these homes for the nation.

During the visit, the head of state reviewed infrastructure developments in the new complex: two schools, eight kindergartens, playgrounds, a 10‑hectare park, an artificial lake, recreational areas, and a network of bike paths. Asphalt paving works are underway across 17 kilometers to improve internal roads.

Particular attention is given to entrepreneurship: 58 non‑residential buildings with trade and service infrastructure are being constructed, expected to create over 700 jobs.

The President also familiarized himself with the “Baytqorġon–Parkent” electrified railway project aimed at modernizing the district’s transport network. Spanning 24 km, it will enable the transport of up to 275,000 passengers daily once operational, bringing the district closer to the capital and expanding transport and tourism potential.

Work has also begun to improve the Parkentsoy shoreline: 4 km of canal have been fully concreted, unlocking opportunities for further development. In accordance with the master plan, a 5 km internal road has been constructed along the shore, capable of handling 10,000 vehicles daily, reducing congestion in the centre. Pedestrian walkways and overpasses have been built.

The second phase will beautify waterways and areas leading to Kumushkon village, with plans to set up tourism facilities on 100 hectares.

At the conclusion of the visit, the President held discussions with civic activists from Parkent, providing theoretical and analytical clarification on the projects from a public perspective.

President Mirziyoyev said:

“Our greatest wealth is the peace of our country and the well‑being of our people. When there is peace, such constructions are possible. We pay strong attention to the development of each region. These projects are the result of independence and reforms, they are spaces created for the prosperity of the people.”

Thus, the Parkentsoy project exemplifies holistic regional development through private and public infrastructure, supports migration from rural areas to cities, and broadens investment opportunities. A new township signifies a new history, new faces, and new legends in the making.
