A new airport opens up tourism potential in Jizzakh

In the Arnasoy district of Jizzakh, a new aerodrome has been constructed and put into operation. This was reported by AvroRJ’s SKY. The opening of the new aerodrome is considered an important step for expanding the region’s aviation infrastructure and developing its tourism potential.

According to reports, new airports are actively developing in Uzbekistan with the expansion of routes for regional aircraft – L-410 and ATR-72. After the airports that started operating earlier in Zomin, Kokand, and Sariosiyo, the Arnasoy aerodrome became the latest project, providing convenience for both the country’s population and tourists.

The aerodrome is located on the shore of Lake Aydarkul, which formed in the mid-20th century and has a unique ecosystem. Currently, it is one of the favorite places for visitors for recreation, fishing, and enjoying natural landscapes. The new aerodrome is expected to significantly increase the number of tourists visiting this region.

Technical parameters of the aerodrome:

  • Runway: 1700 m long, 30 m wide, heading 12/30;

  • 2 specialized parking areas (for ATR and L-410);

  • Terminal buildings constructed according to modern requirements.

The new runway was first tested by the CASA C295W military transport aircraft. This aerodrome is expected to serve not only for the development of regional aviation but also as a transport center for a future resort complex. That is, Arnasoy will provide stable transport and recreational opportunities not only for tourists but also for the local population.

The aerodrome’s commissioning will allow Jizzakh to be included among the most interesting tourist destinations in the country and fully unlock the tourism potential of the region. This is an important step for developing the local economy and infrastructure.
