A new program has been launched in Uzbekistan, allowing users to exchange their old cars for new ones — this is the "Trade-up" or "Car Exchange" program. The government officially approved this program on August 22.
Previously, the "Trade-in" program allowed users to exchange their old car for a new one with an additional payment. Now, through the new "Trade-up" program, users can return their old car and receive a new one.
In both cases, when a physical or legal entity sells a car to a distributor or dealer, notarization is not required. However, notarized consent from the spouse is required.
New definitions were clarified in the legislation. The "Trade-in" program involves exchanging an old car for a new one with an additional payment, while the "Trade-up" program allows for an exchange of an old car for a new one without additional payment.
Furthermore, the definitions of distributors and dealers were clarified. A distributor is a legal entity that has an agreement with the manufacturer to sell new cars in Uzbekistan. A dealer is an organization that has a dealership agreement with a distributor or manufacturer.
Thus, the new program provides users with greater convenience and opportunities to acquire new cars.
