Uzbekistan and Russia cooperation at record high — Ambassador Asadov

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, stated that cooperation between the two countries has reached an unprecedented level. This was reported by Kursiv.media.

According to him, the foundation of this progress is a close and trust-based dialogue at the highest level, cooperation between parliaments and governments, industrial partnerships, and the growth of cultural and humanitarian ties.

Over the past eight years, trade turnover has nearly tripled, and within the next five years, it is expected to reach $30 billion. Russia remains one of the largest investors in Uzbekistan’s economy.

Tourism is also on the rise: in the first eight months of 2025, tourist arrivals from Russia grew by 12%, reaching almost 550,000 visitors. Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin are set to meet soon in China to discuss further cooperation.
