In Uzbekistan, the second season of 2025 of the “Participatory Budget” process, carried out with the involvement of citizens, has come to an end. On August 31, the voting stage was fully completed, and millions of people across the country made their choice.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, this year the process was very active. More than 11 million votes were registered across the republic. This once again demonstrated that the public is not indifferent to the distribution of state funds.
It should be noted that the second season of the “Participatory Budget” began on July 15 and continued until August 3 with the registration of projects. Then, from August 4 to August 18, the selection stage took place. From August 19 to August 21, promotional activities were carried out. The final stage — voting — lasted from August 22 to August 31.
The results show that 2,332 projects worth a total of 3.2 trillion soums were recognized as winners throughout the country. These projects, having received the most votes from the population, will be financed from state funds for implementation.
On September 1, the list of winning projects of the “Open Budget” was officially published on the portal. Now citizens can clearly see which initiatives they supported with their votes will be implemented.
According to specialists, these processes are an important step in solving local problems, taking into account the opinions and proposals of the population. Through direct participation, citizens gain the opportunity to monitor how state funds are spent.
Thus, the “Participatory Budget” is becoming increasingly popular not only as a tool for developing local infrastructure but also as a new platform for citizens’ participation in public governance.
