In Namangan, a letter was delivered to the doorstep of the hokim’s house.

In the Norin district of Namangan region, a note was found posted on the gate of the house recently moved into by the district hokim after the President’s visit. Photos attached to reports on social media also showed the contents of the note.

In the letter, citizen Salima Quldosheva addressed Hokim Zhurabek Nurmatov: “Dear Hokim, due to your decision, we have been left without a family home. My mother passed away in a state of distress and despair. I am married, and my brother is still homeless, cannot marry, and cannot contribute to the country. We hope that you will one day return to your home, while we have been unable to return for 13 years. Respectfully, Quldosheva Salima.”

On September 24, the Norin district hokimiyat issued an official statement regarding the letter. According to the statement, a working group studied the letter and held a meeting with the citizen. It was found that Quldosheva had not previously contacted the hokim or hokimiyat, and her letter was carefully reviewed. Currently, the district hokim is taking practical measures to assist Salima Quldosheva, including her registration in the “Women’s Register.”

The hokimiyat statement notes that her brother, A. Quldoshev, was abroad, so communication with him was conducted via video link with the participation of the local youth leader. Within 10 days, measures are being taken to return him from migration and provide suitable employment.

It is also noted that previously the Namangan regional hokimiyat reported the hokim moved into a container house, but social media shows that the house with the letter is not a container house and the area is fenced.

This incident is widely discussed on social media and draws citizens’ attention to local government actions and social justice issues.
