President: Doctors of New Uzbekistan will be at the center of medical reform

At an important meeting with healthcare workers today, the head of state spoke about the development of the medical sphere. As the President noted, it is no coincidence that this event is being held at the Tashkent State Medical University, which has been training medical personnel for almost a century. This place is the main pillar of medical education, the first school for thousands of doctors in our country.

According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in recent years, the medical sphere in the country has undergone dramatic changes. It was noted that new, high-tech equipment is being introduced, modern clinics are being built, and favorable conditions are being created for improving the qualifications of doctors. But, as the President noted, who will work in these clinics - the answer to this question is also clear: "The creative sons and daughters of New Uzbekistan."

In this regard, the head of state emphasized the need for a radical reform of medical education and the development of the family medicine system. "We are introducing high-tech equipment into medicine, building new clinics. Who works for them? Of course, doctors with modern knowledge, devoted to their country," the President said.

According to the new educational reforms, "General Medicine" faculties will be opened in medical universities starting next academic year. These faculties include pediatrics and treatment. In addition, a special field of family medicine will be introduced at the stages of residency and master's programs.

One of the most important innovations is the benefits created for students studying in residency. Along with free education, they work as family doctors and receive a salary. Graduates who successfully complete their studies will be awarded a special diploma in a narrow field and will receive a 150 percent salary bonus.

As the President noted, this system will not only create new opportunities for young people, but will also open a new stage in the country's healthcare system. Family doctors will become the main support of every mahalla, the closest observer of public health.

As a result of these reforms, medical education will be more closely connected with practice, and young specialists will gain work experience directly on the ground. Most importantly, the population will have access to modern and qualified medical services.
