Construction of a 55,000-seat stadium has started in New Tashkent
On November 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid the foundation stone of a modern 55,000-seat football stadium in New Tashkent. This project is expected to be one of the largest sports facilities in the history of Uzbek football. The stadium will serve the development of football in the country and the hosting of international competitions.

In recent years, significant reforms have been carried out in Uzbek football. Football academies have been opened, 75 large and more than 300 mini-stadiums have been put into operation. Currently, over 65,000 young people are training in football schools, with coaches and sports medicine specialists involved. More than 9,000 playgrounds have been created in neighborhoods, making football a popular sport.

As President Mirziyoyev stated at the ceremony, these reforms are yielding results. The Uzbekistan Olympic team participated in the Paris Olympics, and the national team qualified for the World Cup. At the U-17 World Championship, our young players became Asian champions. Additionally, the transfer value of 20 players exceeded 60 million dollars, and Abduqodir Husanov became Asia’s most expensive footballer.

The new stadium meets FIFA requirements and is based on the principles of “green energy,” “smart management,” and “comfortable environment.” This complex will serve not only the 2027 U-20 World Cup but also the future development of Uzbek football. The stadium will inspire youth, be a source of pride for the nation, and a great gift for fans.
