
Damage to the state caused by illegal use of gas and electricity in Uzbekistan has exceeded 1.2 trillion soums. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy. This is reported by podrobno.uzreports.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, about 2.9 thousand cases related to illegal use of natural gas and electricity have been identified. According to preliminary estimates, total damage amounted to 1.2 trillion soums.
Of the stated amount, 668.9 billion soums account for illegal electricity consumption, while 574.7 billion soums are attributed to unlawful use of natural gas.
To provide a legal assessment of the identified violations, 2,696 sets of documents were sent to law enforcement agencies. In addition, 5,296 administrative cases were filed against consumers who violated the rules for using energy resources.
As part of fuel quality control, a number of shortcomings were also identified at gas stations and enterprises. Analysis of the collected samples showed that in 377 cases there were 9.3 million liters of substandard petroleum products, and their sale was halted.
Earlier, it was reported that in October 2025 the number of illegal uses of natural gas and electricity increased again in the country. According to Uzenergoinspeksiya, the damage caused by thefts within one month exceeded 99 billion soums.
