Entrepreneurship loan terms to be revised, rates to be reduced in some regions

This year, 140 trillion soums in credit resources will be allocated to support small and medium-sized businesses. However, lending terms will be updated, taking into account the specific opportunities and needs of each region. This was reported by podrobno.uz. reports .

At a videoconference meeting on reducing poverty and ensuring employment in 2026, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that banks are still offering loans on the same terms to all regions, whereas entrepreneurs’ capacities differ sharply depending on the district and mahalla.

The head of state said that conditions in Olmazor and Buzatov cannot be compared and criticized the fact that under the family entrepreneurship program both areas are receiving identical loans at 17.5%. Going forward, within the program, loans in 37 “difficult” regions will be issued at 12%.

Under the family entrepreneurship program, the maximum amount of a preferential loan has been increased by 1.5 times for all regions and set at 50 million soums. Up to 100 million soums will be available to purchase imported and certified pedigree livestock, and up to 150 million soums without collateral to set up a guest house, a small cold storage unit, or mini-technologies for storing and processing products.

For projects implemented in 562 mahallas in border and enclave areas, the credit limit will be increased to 1 billion soums. To finance these measures, an additional 2 trillion soums will be allocated on top of the 3.6 trillion soums planned for family business.

To deepen mahalla specialization, banks will allocate 17 trillion soums in loans this year. Of the loans taken to grow agricultural products, 4% will be compensated, and for processing projects, 6% will be compensated.
