In Uzbekistan, the weather on the weekend is expected to gradually move away from the “warm mode” and turn toward cooler conditions. According to “Uzgidromet,” on February 20 dry and very warm weather will still persist across large areas, but around February 21 the inflow of a moist and cool air stream is forecast.
On Friday, February 20, no precipitation is expected across most of the country. By midday, air temperatures are expected to rise to 20–25°C. This is not typical of the last month of winter, but rather of mid-spring. Only in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, and toward the evening in some places in Bukhara and Navoi regions, rain may occur. In the north of the country, temperatures will be around 8–13°C.
On Saturday, February 21, moist and cool air masses are expected to enter from Turkmenistan. That night and in the morning, rain is expected in most areas (except the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region), and thunderstorms are possible in some places. In the Fergana Valley regions, rain is expected mainly in the morning and during the first half of the day.
In the foothill and mountainous areas, precipitation (rain, snow) is expected on February 21, and it may intensify in some locations. As a result, mudflows and flooding may occur. Wind speed will be around 7–12 m/s, strengthening to 13–18 m/s in some places, and in certain areas it may occasionally increase to 20–25 m/s.
On February 21, daytime temperatures are expected to drop to normal values and be around 9–14°C. On Sunday, February 22, no precipitation is expected across all regions of Uzbekistan, and temperatures are forecast to rise again to 15–18°C.
During the weekend, fog may form in some places across the country at night and in the morning.
In Tashkent, on February 20 the temperature will be 22–24°C. On February 21, rain is expected at night and in the morning, thunderstorms are possible, while no precipitation is expected during the day. Temperatures at night and during the day will be around 11–13°C. On February 22, no precipitation is forecast; fog may form at night and in the morning. Temperatures will be 3–5°C at night and 14–16°C during the day.
