Rapid assistance was provided to Uzbeks stranded in Doha

Following the temporary closure of Qatar’s airspace, 48 citizens of Uzbekistan who were supposed to return to Tashkent were stranded at Doha airport. The ministry and the embassy immediately intervened in the situation and took the condition of our compatriots under control.
It is reported that due to the emergency situation, some airlines were unable to immediately accommodate passengers in a hotel. After that, employees of Uzbekistan’s embassy in Doha arrived at the airport, held negotiations, and the citizens were temporarily placed in hotels.
According to the embassy’s information, once Qatar’s airspace is opened and flights are restored, the safe return of Uzbeks to the Homeland will be ensured. At the same time, it was stated that the situation is under constant control.
It was also said that there are no injured among nearly 600 citizens of Uzbekistan staying in Qatar. Compatriots were asked not to panic, to trust only official information, and to follow safety rules.
