Uzbekistan celebrates Navruz in unity

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said the ideas of peace, friendship and cooperation embodied by Navruz are gaining even greater importance at a time of global instability. Speaking during the holiday celebrations, he described Navruz as a centuries-old tradition that has long served as a spiritual bridge between peoples and cultures.
The Uzbek leader noted that the spring festival has, for generations, helped bring nations and ethnic groups closer together. According to him, Navruz stands as a great celebration that inspires kindness, tolerance and mutual respect, while encouraging people to come together around shared human values.
Mirziyoyev said more than 130 nationalities and ethnic communities living in Uzbekistan are celebrating Navruz today as one family, in a joyful and festive atmosphere. He stressed that this is another vivid reflection of the spirit of harmony and social cohesion that has taken root across the country.
He underlined that such solidarity and mutual respect remain the most reliable foundation for building New Uzbekistan together. The president also said the country will continue to mobilize all its efforts and opportunities to strengthen interethnic and interfaith harmony in the years ahead.
Special attention, he added, will also be given to working with neighboring and brotherly states to further reinforce Central Asia as a region of peace, fraternity and cooperation. In this context, Mirziyoyev said the unifying and peace-loving message of Navruz is important not only for Uzbekistan, but also for the wider region and the international community.
During the ceremony, the president also warmly congratulated foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations attending the event on the occasion of International Navruz Day. Through them, he conveyed his best wishes to friendly nations, emphasizing once again that the holiday’s message of unity remains especially relevant in the modern world.
