Billions in social cashback paid to low-income families

The results of the cashback program implemented as part of social support for the population in Uzbekistan have been announced. According to the Tax Committee, a significant amount of funds was returned to low-income families in the first quarter of 2026.
Specifically, during the months of January–March, a total of nearly 161.5 billion soums in social cashback was paid to 621.6 thousand citizens. In March alone, the volume of returned funds exceeded 65 billion soums.
Which regions are leading?
The highest amounts of cashback were paid in the following regions:
- Andijan region — 94.7 billion soums
- Samarkand region — 12.5 billion soums
- Tashkent — 11.5 billion soums

How does the cashback work?
As is known, a special benefit has been introduced for citizens registered in the Unified Social Protection Registry, i.e., those identified as low-income.
According to this, starting from May 1, 2023, when they purchase certain products from stores, they receive:
- not the standard 1%,
- but cashback in the amount of the 12% value-added tax (VAT).
How to receive it?
The procedure for using the cashback is very simple:
- after a purchase, the QR code on the receipt must be scanned via the Soliq application;
- the funds are returned automatically after a certain period.
It is noted that payments for receipts belonging to March were approved after April 25.
