Peskov: A large part of Ukraine wants to become Russia

A significant part of Ukraine wants to become Russia, and this is a fact that history has long confirmed. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine should guarantee the safety of US funds invested in it, because the country could "one day become Russia."

Dmitry Peskov answered the question about how Trump's statement was received in the Kremlin.

"It is true that a large part of Ukraine wants to become Russia, and it has already become Russia. This is a fact that happened on the ground, four new Russian territories. The people who, despite many dangers, stood in line and voted in a referendum to join the Russian Federation - this largely corresponds to what President Trump said," Peskov said.
