Trump announces new talks with Russians next week

Russian and US delegations will hold a new round of talks to end the war in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said, Euronews reported.

According to him, the talks will take place in the Saudi capital Riyadh on February 25, exactly one week after the first meeting.

After the first talks between US and Russian representatives, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that both sides had broadly agreed on three goals: restoring the number of staff at their embassies in Washington and Moscow; creating a high-level group to support peace talks on Ukraine; and exploring opportunities for closer relations and economic cooperation.

Ukrainian officials did not participate in the talks.

According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, preparations for a personal meeting between Trump and Vladimir Putin are currently underway. During a face-to-face meeting, not only the war in Ukraine, but a wide range of issues can be discussed. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
