
Russia is in favor of a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin.
But the question is how to use this period, the Russian president added. At the same time, he said that he wants to guarantee that Ukraine will not mobilize, conduct exercises, or receive weapons during the ceasefire.
“Everything in the Kursk region is under full fire control of the Russian Federation. It is becoming increasingly impossible for Ukrainian soldiers to leave the encirclement near Kursk,” Vladimir Putin said at a joint press conference after a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
The Russian president called the issues of control and verification in the event of a ceasefire still unclear. In his opinion, the issues of detecting violations of the 2,000-km-long ceasefire in Ukraine are very complex.
“The idea of a ceasefire is correct, but there are issues that need to be discussed,” said Vladimir Putin.
He also assured that he could call Trump to discuss the idea of a ceasefire.
