US President Donald Trump is holding talks with Vietnam, Israel and India on easing tariffs. CNN reported this, citing its sources.
According to reports, Trump discussed trade agreements with these countries that would allow for a review of trade relations and a reduction in tariffs. During the negotiations, separate conditions are being considered for each country.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to personally discuss this issue during his visit to the White House on April 7. This was reported by Axios.
Recall that on April 2, Trump officially announced the introduction of new tariffs on goods imported into the United States from Vietnam, Israel and India. That is:
- 17% for Israeli products,
- Vietnamese products — 46%,
- 26% duty is imposed on Indian products.
It is still unclear how these measures will affect international trade relations and what the outcome of the negotiations will be. But experts say that these processes can be an important turning point in the foreign trade policy of the United States.
