Israel's "chief spy" was executed in Iran

Muhsin Langarnishin, accused of spying for Israel in Iran, was executed on the morning of April 30, the country's Mizan news agency reported. According to the agency, Langarnishin had long served the Israeli intelligence agency, the Mossad, and was known as the "chief spy."

In addition to working for Israeli intelligence, Mohsin Langarnishin was also accused of involvement in the assassination of Hassan Sayyad Khodayi, a high-ranking colonel in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He had been cooperating with the Mossad since October 2020.

The Iranian judiciary sentenced Langarnishin to death, and the sentence was carried out after the country's Supreme Court upheld the verdict after a "full trial." The agency did not provide information about when the trial took place, but it is noted that the verdict passed all legal stages.

It should be noted that recently, relations between Iran and Israel have been tense for various reasons. The parties have been regularly accusing each other of espionage and subversive activities. Iranian special services have repeatedly stated that they continue to take strict measures against individuals who threaten the country's security.
