Pakistan strikes back at the "cunning enemy": Shahbaz Sharif makes a strong statement against India
The South Asian conflict has escalated again. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif issued a strong statement against India on May 7 via his official Twitter account. According to him, the “cunning enemy” launched “cowardly attacks” on five Pakistani territories, which he considers a clear aggression against the country’s national security.

“There is no way to not respond to these cowardly attacks on our five territories. Pakistan has every right to give a befitting and firm response to this act of war initiated by India. And this response has already been given,” Sharif stressed.

The prime minister also scheduled a special meeting of Pakistan’s National Security Council for 10:00 a.m. local time on Wednesday to discuss important national decisions on the situation.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, in turn, announced that the country’s Air Force had shot down two Indian fighter jets and a drone. It also claimed that several Indian posts along the Line of Control in Kashmir, including a brigade headquarters, were targeted and destroyed.

However, the Indian Army did not respond to these claims and did not issue an official statement.

According to political analysts, such contradictory statements between the two nuclear-armed states pose a serious threat to regional security. In particular, the Kashmir issue has been a flashpoint between the two sides for years.

It is not yet known whether the conflict will escalate or be defused through diplomatic negotiations, but monitoring the situation closely and preventing any drastic actions is very important for maintaining peace in the region.
