Putin has ordered the identification of targets for a new ballistic strike on Kiev
Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the Defense Ministry a specific order to target military and political targets in Kiev with the Oreshnik ballistic missile. This was reported by Russian media outlets such as Mash and Baza, citing their sources.

According to the reports, when Putin gave this order, he stated that there could be no talk of any truce or ceasefire agreement in the near future. The reason for this decision is the recent provocative actions by Ukraine, in particular, attempts to attack Moscow with drones, as well as the preparation of even more serious provocations during festive events in the capital.

It should be recalled that Russia first targeted the city of Dnieper with the Oreshnik ballistic missile on November 21. According to experts, the high speed and trajectory of this missile leave almost no chance of interception. However, the second test of this weapon, conducted against Kiev on February 6, ended in failure: the missile exploded in mid-air before reaching its intended target.

After this incident, the situation in the Kremlin was perceived as serious, and this failure was a serious blow to Russia's military prestige, against the background of Putin's threats to "decision-making centers" in Kiev, in particular, the office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

The Ukrainian authorities and the people of Kiev were relieved of the dangerous situation for a while after this second test. Because, according to experts, the Oreshnik ballistic missile has a very high destructive potential, and in addition to its military effect, it also had a high psychological pressure and panic effect.

Currently, the Russian Ministry of Defense is reportedly working on improving the technical characteristics and efficiency of these missiles. Therefore, there are speculations that Putin's next order could once again escalate the situation in Kiev.

International observers are closely monitoring the possible results of this action and what countermeasures the Ukrainian side will take.
