The world-famous Disney company is once again attracting global attention with its latest major project. The renowned "Disneyland" theme park will now, for the first time, be built in the Middle East, with Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, chosen as its location. This was announced by Disney's press service.
According to Disney representatives, the new theme park will be constructed on the artificial Yas Island, a well-known tourist hub in Abu Dhabi. Currently, all details related to the project remain confidential, but it has been confirmed that the planning phase will take approximately two years, while the park's full construction is expected to take around six years.
"The Disneyland in Abu Dhabi will create an authentic Disney atmosphere, simultaneously reflecting the unique national characteristics of this region. It will become a true Disney entertainment oasis at the crossroads of the world, represented by the UAE," stated Robert Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
It was emphasized that the selection of the UAE for constructing the new "Disneyland" was not accidental. The country hosts one of the largest aviation hubs globally, ensuring a continuous and growing influx of tourists to the Emirates. For approximately one-third of the Earth's population, traveling to the UAE takes only around four hours, making this region highly convenient and promising from a tourism perspective.
This Disney project is expected to be a significant event not only for the United Arab Emirates but also for the entire Middle East tourism sector. The opening of one of the world's largest and most popular entertainment centers will significantly enhance the country's tourism potential, allowing it to join the ranks of globally recognized tourist destinations.
For reference, there are currently six "Disneyland" parks operating worldwide. They are located in the US states of California and Florida, near Tokyo in Urayasu, Japan, as well as in cities like Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Paris. The new park in the UAE will become the seventh "Disneyland," holding substantial economic and cultural importance for the entire region.
By implementing this project, Disney not only solidifies its global position but also contributes significantly to the development of family tourism in the Middle East. It will attract millions of tourists annually to Abu Dhabi, opening new economic opportunities for the country.
Disney's new mega-project is set to be a crucial step toward transforming the UAE into one of the world's premier tourism hubs. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
