The Kremlin said that it is important to “take into account the nuances” when discussing the agreement
A meaningful discussion on a 30-day ceasefire in Russia's war in Ukraine cannot be held "without taking into account all the details and nuances," Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, TASS reported on May 9.

Peskov recalled that the Kremlin had supported the initiative for a long-term ceasefire when it was first proposed by US President Donald Trump. However, in his opinion, "there are many details surrounding the ceasefire, and it is difficult to conduct a meaningful discussion without finding a clear answer to them."

At the same time, Peskov stressed at the end of April that it was impossible to talk about a temporary ceasefire without taking into account these "nuances."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his address on May 7, said that Kiev's proposal for a ceasefire with Russia for at least 30 days was still valid. “We do not intend to withdraw this proposal, which could pave the way for diplomacy,” the Ukrainian leader said.

In the same address, Zelensky stressed that Russia was only launching “new strikes” on Ukrainian territory, which “will clearly and clearly show everyone who is the real source of the war.”

The international community is currently closely monitoring the further development of the situation on this issue.
