
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions on three Uzbek companies and one Uzbek citizen, Kursiv Media reported.
The sanctions took effect on May 9 and will remain in force for ten years. They target the joint venture Mercury Renaissance and its subsidiary, Fergana Chemical Plant.
Mercury Renaissance, registered in Tashkent, has been involved in leasing and renting construction equipment since 2016. The company's founders are Rustam Muminov and Shahriyor Tajiev.
Personal sanctions have also been imposed on Rustam Muminov. According to Zelensky’s decree, "appropriate measures" will be taken against him.
The Jizzakh-based Raw Materials Cellulose company, which produces pulp and cellulose, was also included in the sanctions.
Ukraine's sanctions list also includes companies from Russia, China, Iran, and Belarus.
