Afghan minister wants to teach Russia how to build prisons: what is the reason?

Afghan Justice Minister Abdul Hakim Shari has given Russian officials recommendations on how to build and manage prisons in accordance with human rights. He spoke about this during a speech at an international legal forum in St. Petersburg.

Shari said in his speech that a “pure Islamic justice system” has now been created in Afghanistan. This system is based on Sharia law and the rich history, culture and religious values of the Afghan people. In his opinion, such a justice system will provide reliable protection for every human right, and other countries can adopt this model.

This system, based on Islamic Sharia, is an effective tool for combating corruption, establishing the truth and guaranteeing the rights of every citizen. According to the minister, it is thanks to this system that Afghan prisons have become not only places of punishment, but also centers of social and moral education.

Shari emphasized that when building prisons, first of all, attention should be paid to the moral, social and religious rehabilitation of convicts. In his opinion, this approach is crucial in forming a sense of responsibility among prisoners and reintegrating them into society.

"Today, Afghan prisons have been transformed into moral rehabilitation centers, helping prisoners understand their responsibilities to society," the minister emphasized.

Shari also stated in his speech that Afghanistan highly respects Islamic values and is open to cooperation with countries based on these values. He also expressed his readiness to expand ties with countries that respect Afghanistan's territorial integrity and national dignity.
