On June 14, 2025, another major political event was recorded in the history of the United States: while tanks and soldiers were holding a parade through the streets of Washington, in all states of the country—from major metropolises to small towns with low populations—millions of citizens began mass protest rallies against President Donald Trump’s administration. The Guardian provided extensive information about this.
The protest rallies were widespread, being organized at more than 2,100 locations throughout the country. Over 100 active groups and human rights coalitions united to organize and coordinate these actions. Although they acted on the principle of peacefulness and rejection of violence, in some cities law enforcement agencies were forced to use force against demonstrators.
This week, President Trump sent the National Guard and the Marines to Los Angeles, trying to stop protesters who opposed his strict deportation policy. As a result, large-scale protests were held throughout the country on Saturday. Such rallies were also observed near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
The scale of the protests was very large: in New York, more than 200,000 people gathered, in Philadelphia—more than 100,000. Especially notable was the participation in the city of Pentwater, Michigan, where out of 800 people, 400 participated in the protest, clearly demonstrating the general mood and level of activity in the country.
Although such actions were mostly peaceful, in some cities—particularly Los Angeles and Portland—the police declared them illegal and used tear gas. In Virginia, a man drove an off-road vehicle into a crowd, injuring several people. In San Francisco, a driver hit at least four protesters. Fortunately, they suffered injuries that did not threaten their lives.
Among the protesters were people of various ages and professions. Thousands gathered at the main protest rally in Minnesota. They carried anti-president signs and various banners, expressing their dissatisfaction with state policy in a peaceful manner. At this particular rally, U.S. Army veteran Chris Eazel also participated, sharply criticizing Trump’s decision to send troops to Los Angeles.
In general, these protests opened a new page in America’s political landscape. Millions of Americans openly showed their dissatisfaction with state policy, expressing their views and calling everyone to unite in the name of democracy and peace. These events were watched with great interest not only inside the country, but also around the world. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
