The escalating conflict between Israel and Iran in the Middle East is once again uniting international political circles. According to official information released by the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping held a phone conversation, focusing primarily on the dangerous situation in the region.
During the conversation, Putin expressed Russia’s readiness to act as a mediator for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. The Kremlin statement emphasized that Moscow considers preventing bloodshed in the region and bringing all parties to the negotiation table as a top priority.
Xi Jinping, in turn, stated that China is always ready to support international peace and stability. The two leaders also discussed the situation in Central Asia and agreed to coordinate “guidelines and political positions.”
In addition, the political disagreements that arose during the G7 summit were also addressed. According to reports, U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Putin’s mediation offer, left the summit early, and later called the exclusion of Russia from the group a mistake.
Experts believe this conversation once again confirmed Moscow’s and Beijing’s active involvement in international political processes. The call of the two powers for peace reflects the urgent need for a serious solution in global security. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
