A sad incident in the village of Gult, in southeastern France, attracted the attention of not only the country but also the entire world community. On June 22, a wedding celebration turned into a terrible tragedy: a 27-year-old bride was killed in an armed attack on her wedding day.
According to details, around 4:30 a.m., as the bride, groom, and guests were leaving the wedding hall, masked and armed individuals attacked them. Local sources report that the attackers came with several types of weapons and opened fire on the spot. Sadly, as a result, the 27-year-old bride lost her life, while the 25-year-old groom and a 13-year-old teenager received serious injuries.
Sources close to the investigation say this crime may have been committed due to disputes related to drugs. It is also reported that one of the attackers died at the scene. The other criminals managed to escape on foot after the incident.
The village of Gult is located about 80 kilometers north of Marseille and has more than 1,000 residents. In recent years, this region has often appeared in the media because of drug-related crimes. The French government has promised to further strengthen efforts to prevent such incidents and to fight against drug trafficking.
