US President Donald Trump sharply assessed the situation in Ukraine during a closed meeting with NATO leaders — in his opinion, it has “completely gotten out of control.” According to information published by Bloomberg, Trump emphasized to his allies that “something needs to be done in such a situation,” and this statement was perceived as an important signal for Ukraine.
Patriot complexes and the issue of new aid
Trump announced that he is considering providing Kyiv with additional Patriot air defense systems. At the same time, he indicated that these weapons are important for both the US and Israel, not clarifying whether aid to Ukraine would continue or stop.
“I’ll end the war in 24 hours” was sarcasm
President Trump admitted that his famous promise to end the war in 24 hours was “sarcasm.” He described Russian leader Vladimir Putin as “a very complicated person” and did not hide that there have also been various problems with Ukrainian President Zelensky. “This war turned out to be much harder than others,” Trump said. He also recalled his success in resolving other international conflicts — Iran-Israel, India-Pakistan, Serbia-Kosovo.
“Putin is ready for negotiations, he wants to get out of the situation”
Donald Trump expressed confidence that Putin truly wants to end the war: “I believe Putin wants to get out of this situation, but he is confused.” Trump also added that on June 25, Zelensky told him that he wants everything to be finished as soon as possible.
