Trump’s Major Statement on Russia Expected: New Rules for NATO and Ukraine

President Donald Trump, in an interview with NBC News, stated that he would make a "major statement" regarding Russia in the coming days. According to him, he is "disappointed in Russia" and the situation could fundamentally change very soon.

The politician said: “We’ll see what happens in a week or two. On Monday, July 14, I will make an important statement regarding Russia.” These words from Trump sparked intense discussion both in America and internationally. The reason: this statement could impact the geopolitical balance.

In the interview, Trump also specifically addressed military aid to Ukraine. According to him, the US and NATO have reached a “new agreement.” Under this arrangement, American weapons are first sent to NATO, and the alliance then delivers them to Ukraine and fully reimburses the US for their value. “We’re sending weapons to NATO, and NATO fully reimburses their cost,” the president said.

Additionally, Trump indicated that the final word on new sanctions against Russia will personally be his. “If I want to impose them, it’s my decision. Congress wants to pass a very strict sanctions bill, but the final decision belongs to the president,” he emphasized. So, the tightening or loosening of sanctions now depends solely on the president’s will.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also active in foreign policy. According to him, a meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur with a Russian delegation, where new proposals regarding Ukraine were discussed.
