Macron’s Decision Sparks Strong Discontent in Israel

The official recognition of the State of Palestine, announced by French President Emmanuel Macron, has sparked serious criticism in Israel. The Prime Minister of the Jewish state, Benjamin Netanyahu, described this move as absolutely unacceptable.

He posted the following comment on his social media page:

“President Macron’s recognition of a Palestinian state near Tel Aviv, despite the terrorist attack of October 7, 2023, is a promotion of terrorism and the creation of new threats similar to those that occurred in Gaza. Such decisions serve to strengthen artificial regimes like those in Iraq or Iran,” he said.

The Israeli government views this move as a unilateral action directed against international security and as one that increases tensions.

According to Netanyahu, by recognizing the State of Palestine, France is indirectly supporting radical groups in Gaza and throughout the region. This may become an obstacle to peace negotiations in the area.
