Due to global warming in the Arctic, polar and grizzly bears — which used to live far apart — are now encountering each other in the same territory. It has been acknowledged that they have even started hunting together — for example, polar bears and grizzly bears are now jointly hunting reindeer. This was reported by the renowned polar explorer Vladimir Chukov, according to Peopletalk.
Experts emphasize that this natural process leads not only to changes in the ecosystem but also to genetic merging. Scientific studies have shown that polar bear DNA contains segments typical of grizzly bears, and even hybrid bear cubs have been born.
Today, with rising temperatures in the Arctic, the habitats of these two species are getting closer, increasing the likelihood of future encounters. This may lead to the emergence of a new biological balance within the ecosystem.
