A shocking incident that occurred in Spain has caused serious public discussion. At the El Prat International Airport in Barcelona, a 10-year-old boy was unable to board a flight due to an expired passport, and his parents left him at the airport and flew off on vacation.
This was reported by the publication Pravilamag. According to the information, the family had planned to go on vacation, but the child did not have the necessary documents to board — his passport was invalid and he also had no visa.
According to airport staff, after the child was unable to board, the parents agreed that a relative would come pick him up, and they flew away. The boy was found alone by airport staff, who notified the police.
“I am a dispatcher and have seen many things, but this is disgraceful. How can parents leave their own child at the airport due to a document issue? A relative might not arrive for hours. But they flew away without rushing,” said the dispatcher who shared the sensational incident on social media.
Police located the child’s parents and brought them back to the airport. They said they had planned for a relative to take the child. It is currently unclear whether criminal charges will be filed in this case.
