According to local sources, while driving his car, Valencia noticed a young man standing on a bridge, apparently attempting to take his own life. The former footballer didn’t remain indifferent: he stopped the car, got out, and approached the individual.
Antonio explained the situation as follows:
– Honestly, it was unexpected and very difficult. While I was driving, I saw a young man standing at the edge of the bridge – a very dangerous moment. I got out of the car and decided to speak with him. I won’t say I saved him, but I tried to talk, to reach his heart, – said Valencia.
He said the young man immediately recognized him, which made the conversation easier. Valencia spoke to him about the value of life, dreams, and the importance of fighting on. Over time, the conversation had an impact, and the young man changed his mind.
– Thank God, his family arrived quickly, and the tragedy was avoided. In our culture, we say: “One word can heal the heart.” Maybe my words reached his soul, – Valencia added.
