US President Donald Trump announced his intention to strengthen security in the capital Washington and radically change the appearance of the city. According to him, homeless individuals will be urgently removed from the capital, and special housing located far from the city will be allocated for them.
"I want to turn our capital into the safest and most beautiful city in history. The homeless must leave this place immediately. We will give you a comfortable place to live far from the capital. If criminals do not want to leave – we will send all of you to prisons. This process will be carried out very quickly," Trump wrote on his Truth Social page.
At the same time, in his Thursday speech, he also emphasized that due to the increase in the crime rate in Washington, National Guard troops may be deployed to the city.
According to CNN, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement federal agents, the FBI, the National Guard, and the Department of Homeland Security have received instructions to prepare in advance for the deployment of troops in the capital.
These actions are seen as another major step toward restoring public order in Washington, ensuring the safety of citizens, and improving urban infrastructure. However, this decision is also causing various discussions and debates.
