An unexpected incident occurred in the northern part of Sydney, Australia. A light motor aircraft made an emergency landing on a golf course during a training flight, reports ABC News.
According to reports, the incident happened around 2:00 p.m. local time. On board the Piper Cherokee aircraft were an instructor and a student. Footage from the scene shows that the plane’s wing was damaged and its wheels had broken off.
Medical personnel provided first aid to two injured individuals, who were later taken to the hospital. It was confirmed that they had sustained only minor injuries.
Authorities stated that the exact cause of the accident is still being investigated. However, preliminary reports suggest that the incident may have been due to an engine malfunction.
One eyewitness described the event as follows:
"At first I thought it was a big bird. Then I looked up and saw the plane. It was so close that I almost dropped my golf club."
